Universitas Jember membuka pendaftaran jalur mandiri atau yang lebih dikenal dengan Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Besuki Raya (SBMPTBR) 2020. Peluncuran pendaftaran SBMPTBR 2020 dilakukan oleh Iwan Taruna, Rektor Universitas Jember, seusai melakukan penandatanganan naskah kesepahaman (Memorandum of Understanding, MoU) dengan para pimpinan Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (PTS) di wilayah Besuki Raya (14/7). Untuk diketahui, pendaftaran ujian mandiri di Universitas Jember memiliki keistimewaan dimana melibatkan PTS di wilayah Besuki Raya. Artinya pendaftar SBMPTBR bisa memilih program studi di Universitas Jember, sekaligus berkesempatan memilih program studi di PTS yang turut serta.


Menurut Iwan Taruna, konsep SBMPTBR adalah implementasi kerjasama Forum Silaturahmi PTN-PTS se-Besuki Raya yang sudah dimulai semenjak tahun 2015 lalu. Dimana Universitas Jember sepakat bekerjasama dengan PTS di wilayah Besuki Raya. “Kerjasama dalam seleksi mahasiswa baru hanyalah salah satu dari banyak kerjasama yang dijalankan oleh Universitas Jember dengan kawan-kawan PTS di Besuki Raya. Bahkan model penerimaan mahasiswa baru seperti ini kini mulai direplikasi di wilayah lain. Tahun ini ada duapuluh satu PTS yang turut serta, sementara tahun lalu hanya ada delapan belas PTS saja,” jelas Iwan Taruna.


Manfaat pelaksanaan SBMPTBR diutarakan oleh Said Mardijanto dari Stikes dr. Soebandi Jember, salah satu PTS yang tergabung, yang tampil mewakili 21 PTS lainnya. Menurutnya dengan mengikuti pelaksanaan SBMPTBR, maka mengurangi beban PTS. “Seperti diketahui sebagian besar dana operasional PTS bersumber dari mahasiswa, sementara di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini banyak orang tua mahasiswa dan calon mahasiswa yang terkena dampak Coivd-19. Dengan adanya SBMPTBR maka kami sangat terbantu,” tutur Said Mardijanto. PTS yang turut dalam SBMPTBR 2020 tersebar mulai Banyuwangi, Lumajang, Jember hingga Probolinggo.


Sementara itu menurut Zulfikar, Wakil Rektor I bidang Akademik, Kemahasiswaan, dan Alumni Universitas Jember, proses pendaftaran dan pelaksanaan SBMPTBR 2020 tetap mengacu kepada protokol kesehatan yang sudah ditetapkan oleh Kemenkes, Kemendikbud serta Gugus Tugas Penanganan Covid-19 masing-masing daerah. “Tahun ini lokasi Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer atau UTBK hanya dibatasi di tiga kota, Jember, Bondowoso, dan Lumajang saja. Berbeda dengan tahun lalu yang dilakukan di beberapa kota di Besuki Raya. Peserta juga diberi kesempatan menggunakan nilai UTBK SBMPTN sehingga tidak perlu ikut UTBK SBMPTBR,” imbuh Zulfikar.


Pendaftaran online SBMPTBR dibuka sejak 15 Juli hingga 29 Juli 2020, sementara untuk UTBK akan digelar pada 6 Agustus hingga 12 Agustus 2020 dengan setiap harinya ada 2 sesi UTBK dengan pengumuman pada 24 Agustus 2020. “Informasi lengkap dapat dilihat melalui sbmtbr.unej.ac.id dan dapat pula menghubungi kami di Humas Universitas Jember melalui email dan media sosial resmi kami,” pesan Rokhmad Hidayanto, Kepala Sub Bagian Humas Universitas Jember.
